The air holidays and flights offered by BAOBAB Travel are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority.

ATOL protects you from losing your money or being stranded abroad. It does this by carrying out checks on tour operators like BAOBAB Travel it licenses, and requiring us to take part in a financial guarantee scheme managed by the Air Travel Trust (ATT), which provides the funds to protect customers should BAOBAB financially fail. As a licence holder we also provide a bond, which is lodged with the ATT and provides additional funds.

If BAOBAB Travel goes out of business, the CAA will make a refund to you, or if you are abroad, they will arrange for you to finish your holiday and fly home.

Financial Protection Non-air Holidays
All of our customers can have extra piece of mind when making their holiday arrangements. When booking with us you are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to our insolvency.

Tourism Concern's Ethical Tour Operator Group

BAOBAB Travel supports the work of Tourism Concern and is a member of their Ethical Tour Operator Group. Tourism Concern campaigns against exploitation in tourism and for fairly traded and ethical forms of tourism.

The BAOBAB philosophy has also been recognised by ResponsibleTravel.com, a web-based group enabling travellers to find a diversity of pre-screened trips and accommodation provided by many of the world's leading tour operators, accommodation owners and grass-roots community projects. All trips and accommodation on their site have met minimum environmental, social and economic criteria to qualify for membership (please review our Responsible Travel Policy). We are proud that ALL BAOBAB Travel trips have met these criteria.

We are even more proud to have been short listed for the Responsible Tourism Awards 2004 in the category of tour operators.

Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa (FTTSA)

BABOAB Travel supports Fair Trade accredited establishments and operators in South Africa that have FTTSA accreditation.

ATTA is a networking platform for Tourism Industry members in Africa. ATTA distributes news on tourism matters throughout Africa to its wide membership and acts as an information hub between the news media and the tourist industry in times of crisis.

BAOBAB Travel are an Appointed Operator for British Airways enabling us to offer highly competitive prices on all British Airways flights included in our itineraries. It also allows us to hold seats for you, at no obligation to you to buy the airfare, until you have formally booked your itinerary with BAOBAB Travel. All we need are the names, as shown in their passport, of ALL passengers travelling.

Supporting Tree Planting
Tree Aid supports tree planting and reforestation in rural Africa by helping villagers to learn how to use and care for their trees, to know what to sell and how to sell it, to learn to build and run a business so that they can be self-reliant.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve animal welfare, prevent animal cruelty and abuse, protect wildlife and provide animal rescue around the world.
