Kafunta River Lodge
Kafunta River Lodge is a family run, classic Zambian safari lodge located centrally in a quiet corner of the South Luangwa National Park. It is built around a wild mango tree and overlooking the floodplain of the Luangwa River. All chalets are built on raised wooden platforms and overlook the game rich floodplain. All have recently been refurbished and the luxury suites with an upstairs viewing deck are new additions to the lodge.
Kafunta’s spacious wooden deck above the waterhole provides you with undisturbed views over the floodplain. The lodge also has a pool and natural hot tub, fed completely by natural and local geothermal water. When darkness falls, enjoy a scrumptious candlelit dinner under the African stars, whilst watching animals attracted to the floodlights at waterhole in front of the lodge.
Kafunta River Lodge has its own pontoon based 5 mins drive from the lodge. The adventurous river crossing takes you into the more remote areas of the park. The safari activities on offer focus on day & night game drives, although the early hours of the day are ideal for a walk in the bush.
