Destinations - African elephants walking through water

Africa is the world’s second largest continent covering about 20% of the earth’s total land surface. Its climates range from tropical to subarctic (on its highest peaks) and from desert to savanna plains & dense rainforests. This gives rise to an impressive biodiversity both in terms of flora and fauna. Together with the vast areas that benefit protection from nature conservation, Africa perhaps boasts the world’s largest populations of `free roaming` wildlife.

Eastern Africa is widely regarded as the Cradle of Humankind with the discovery of the earliest Homo sapiens found in Ethiopia dating back ca. 200,000 years. Africa now has about 922 million people in 61 territories, accounting for about 14% of the World’s population. Its long and colourful history has shaped its present multiplicity of cultures with well over 1,000 languages spoken.

It is no wonder that the African continent offers such a wealth of special interests. BAOBAB Travel offers trips throughout Southern African including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia. East African remains a popular safari destination numerous game reserves and national parks throughout Tanzania and Kenya.
