Botswana - Featured Trips
The unique and educational Elephant Interaction half day excursion is available to guests of Baine's and Stanley's Camps. The activity encompasses a leisurely paced
walk with a trio of semi-habituated
elephants, becoming personally acquainted
with them, observing and interacting with
them and a picnic lunch in their company. The excursion is offered by The Living with Elephants Foundation also known as Grey Matters, owned by Doug
and Sandi Groves'. This Botswana based
company supports the elephant trio: Jabu,
Thembi and Morula. As part of a unique
learning adventure, visitors accompany the
herd on daily foraging treks. Immersed in
elephant life, warm bonds of kinship grow
from a newly found appreciation of these
gentle giants. The three elephants were rescued from culling operations and adopted by Doug and Sandi. THe couple launched the Living with Elephants Foundation in 1999, dedicated to relieving competion between the African Elephant and the human population of Botswana.
