Shinde Camp
Shinde Concession - Shinde is a magical hideaway built in a remote setting on the edge of the Shinde Lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta. The camp is surrounded by clear waterways teeming with birdlife and game. The camp consists of eight large safari style tents with sewn in floors and windows, and en-suite bathrooms. The main building consists of a raised lounge/dining room overlooking the delta, and a plunge pool in which to cool off. Within the camp is the Shinde Enclave, a perfect choice for a family or small group. The Enclave is a camp within a camp, and offers guests their own private tree house, dining facilities and an exclusive host/guide.

Activities
Activities at Shinde include game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles which offers some of the finest dry land game viewing in Botswana with regular sightings of lion and leopard, game viewing in mokoros (traditional dug-out canoes), guided nature walks, night drives and boating excursions. For the fishing enthusiasts, Shinde offers fly-fishing trips, and the chance to test ones skills against a variety of species including the mighty tiger fish.

Responsible Travel
Ker & Downey contributes a percentage of its profits to the Bana Ba Letsatsi Orphanage in Maun. The organization works with over 260 vulnerable and orphaned children and young adults, providing food, education, shelter and skills development programs.

Young Explorers
The tailor-made Young Explorers programmes are specially designed safaris offering families the opportunity to discover the wonders of the African wilderness together. In the Delta, the Young Explorers programmes are based at Footsteps Camp in the Shinde Concession. Footsteps is an imtimate 6 bed tented camp, booked on an exclusive use basis. The guides at the camp have experience in environmental education for children. All activities are tailored around the children's ages, including nature walks, tracking, bush craft, bird and animal identification as well as cooking. At the end each child is rewarded with a certificate of completion and gift. Please note that these programs are available to children aged 7 and older, although exceptions can be made.
