Activities include game drives and bush walks with knowledgeable and experienced guides, hides situated at key sites in the reserve, community visits, opportunities to participate in conservation projects and ranger training courses.
Responsible tourism plays a key part in Tuli Safari Lodge's operating philosophy.
Community
The lodge has active community programmes supporting children in neighbouring villages, including the donation of computing equipment to schools and hosting orphans from the region for an annual environmental awareness day.
Using funds raised at a dinner to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Botswana's independence and working closely with social workers in the Bobirwa district, Tuli Safari Lodge sponsored the building of a fully-furnished house for a family of 8 orphaned children.
Conservation
The lodge takes a serious and conscientious approach to conservation. They have a resident conservationist
and an on-site conservation centre from which research, monitoring and species/ecosystem conservation
projects are organised. Game population assessments, investigations of animal behaviour patterns and
soil/habitat conservation projects form the core of this effort.
Tuli Safari Lodge is a member of Birdlife Botswana
and Birdlife South Africa and supports these organisations by recording and submitting data about threatened
birds.
They work closely with the local wildlife department on snare-clearing and anti-poaching patrols.
The lodge has policies in place to ensure sustainable use of natural resources, including limiting wood
collection, minimising off-road driving, recycling waste and reducing the use of electricity.
Training
Tuli Lodge is registered with the Botswana Training Authority (BOTA) as a conservation & hospitality training
centre. In association with organisations such as Okavango Guiding School, they provide training for guides,
rangers and hospitality staff.
Payment for extras can be made at the lodge by cash, traveller's cheques or
