Botswana - Places To Stay
Xakanaxa Area - Xakanaxa Camp is situated on the banks of the Khwai River. The stylish main buildings are set on raised platforms to maximize the views over the surrounding lagoons and islands. All buildings are constructed out of local timber, reed and thatch. The stylish, Meru style tents on raised platforms have en-suite bathrooms and a unique water sprinkler system that aids cooling during the midday heat.
The reception lounge boasts a curio shop and facilities for charging videos, cameras and batteries. The camp operates on generator power but at night all lighting is supplied by battery powered lamps, candles and paraffin lanterns, giving the camp an authentic African ambience. The kitchen is renowned for its traditional meals and dinner is accompanied by excellent South African wines. Meals are generally taken around the main dining room table, or private dining can be arranged on request.
