Egypt - Featured Trips
This exquisite Nile Cruise on board the SS Hadeel, a traditional Dahabiya, will take you from Luxor to Aswan (or reverse order). In the early 1900s, these sailing boats were used on the Nile for leisure by the aristocracy. The SS Hadeel has 3 decks with a lounge, bar, dining room and only 8 en-suite cabins all decorated in beautiful arabesque style. You will visit some of the best of Pharonic Egypt, including the Valley of Kings & Queens and Karnak Temple in Luxor, temples of Kom Ombo & Edfu between Luxor & Aswan, but also some more off the beaten track destinations. This trip also offers the opportunity to observe its landscape at a slow pace and get close to its people.
On arrival in Luxor or Aswan Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the SS Hadeel, your home for the the next 8 days. In the afternoon there is time to explore nearby Karnak and the Luxor Temples. Overnight on the SS Hadeel on FB basis.
Today you will visit the west bank of the Nile River Valley of Kings, tombs of the Nobles, Valley temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut as well as the very interesting Deir El Medina, where the workers of Pharaoh used to live and were buried in very colorful tombs. Enjoy a full day aboard the SS Hadeel sailing on the Nile River. Hadeel has two large sails, traditional style, and the wind will take her from one sight to another. Overnight on the SS Hadeel on FB basis.

Anchor for the night at one of the small Nile islands where you can enjoy a traditional Egyptian barbeque perfectly prepared by your onboard chef. Overnight on the SS Hadeel on FB basis.
Continue down the Nile through an area where the cliffs on both side of the river narrow. Visit Gebel el Silsila, where sandstone was quarried for the temples in southern Egypt. Moor on the Nile river bank and in the afternoon take a walk in the countryside. Overnight on the SS Hadeel on FB basis.
During the day you will arrive at Kom Ombo and visit the beautifully situated temple. If it is market day you can also visit the market in Daraw before you continue your journey. Overnight on the SS Hadeel on FB basis.
