Egypt - Places To Stay

Egypt is one of the most extraordinary diverse destinations with so much to explore. Dive the Red Sea in the warm and clear waters of the Gulf of Aqaba. Explore the black and white desert and Pharonic tombs or visit some of the ancient biblical sites, such as St Catherine's Monastery. Trek into the heart of the Sinai Desert on camel and by foot and spend time with a Bedouin tribe to learn about their ways of surviving this harsh desert environment. Visit some of the awesome canyons and hike up Mount Sinai to watch the sun set over the desert landscape. To top it all sleeping under the stars in the desert is a most breathtaking and soul recharging experience.

Sinai Desert
The popular image of a desert landscape is one of a desolate, barren wilderness devoid of water and life. But the Sinai desert however, supports a surprisingly diverse range of fauna and flora and has a mountain landscape that is visually overpowering.

The hotels we use employ mostly Egyptian staff. Bedouins don't like jobs that tie them down, but the hotels have close links with Bedouin families and provide fairly paid work as drivers and desert guides. Our safaris often include overnight Bedouin style camping in the desert. After a camel safari through the desert, Bedouin guides will choose the perfect location to erect the Bedouin tents - with carpets and sleeping mats on the ground.
