Jordan - Highlights

Jordan is a country of culture, beauty and outstanding contrast. It is a modern kingdom with an ancient culture, offering the traveller diverse scenery and exceptional traditional hospitality during their stay. The cultural heritage is enriched by outdoor activities from the sandy, rocky deserts to the country's evergreen mountain forests.

The land has been inhabited throughout the centuries by nomads, biblical prophets and the conquering armies of Romans, Byzantines and Arabs. All these civilisations have left their mark on Jordan, from the Nabatean city of Petra carved from the desert rock which draws visitors from all corners of the world, to the beautifully preserved Roman city of Jerash, and to the site where Jesus Christ was baptised in addition to many other biblical locations.

For natural scenery there is Wadi Mujib, the lowest nature reserve in the world with its extravagant array of scenery near the east coast of the Dead Sea, and one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, Wadi Rum, the desert of Lawrence of Arabia. After all this there is the opportunity to bathe in the unique salty waters of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on the Earth's surface.

Our itineraries offer the possibility of fully guided tours in air conditioned buses, a chance to get off the beaten track and trek or ride horses through Jordan's wild nature reserves. Desert safaris by camel and 4x4 with local Bedouin guides are an excellent way to appreciate the solitude and beauty of Jordan's rocky deserts. All itineraries can be extended with additional excursion in Jordan or a short itinerary in Egypt, such as diving in the Red Sea or a stay in the Sinai Desert.
