Jordan - Highlights

Jordan is a country of culture, beauty and outstanding contrast. It is a modern kingdom with an ancient culture, offering the traveller diverse scenery and exceptional traditional hospitality during their stay. The cultural heritage is enriched by outdoor activities from the sandy, rocky deserts to the country's evergreen mountain forests.

The land has been inhabited throughout the centuries by nomads, biblical prophets and the conquering armies of Romans, Byzantines and Arabs. All these civilisations have left their mark on Jordan, from the Nabatean city of Petra carved from the desert rock which draws visitors from all corners of the world, to the beautifully preserved Roman city of Jerash, and to the site where Jesus Christ was baptised in addition to many other biblical locations.

For natural scenery there is Wadi Mujib, the lowest nature reserve in the world with its extravagant array of scenery near the east coast of the Dead Sea, and one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, Wadi Rum, the desert of Lawrence of Arabia. After all this there is the opportunity to bathe in the unique salty waters of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on the Earth's surface.

Our itineraries offer the possibility of fully guided tours in air conditioned buses, a chance to get off the beaten track and trek or ride horses through Jordan's wild nature reserves. Desert safaris by camel and 4x4 with local Bedouin guides are an excellent way to appreciate the solitude and beauty of Jordan's rocky deserts. All itineraries can be extended with additional excursion in Jordan or a short itinerary in Egypt, such as diving in the Red Sea or a stay in the Sinai Desert.

Jordan

In Jordan, we offer a range of inspiring, one-week cultural tours combining the renowned archaeological sites of Petra and Jerash with the Dead Sea and the Jordanian desert. All these itineraries start & finish in the capital city of Jordan - Amman. All tours exclude international flights, so you have flexibility to extend your trip with a second week relaxing in the Dead Sea coast or travelling to nearby countries such as Egypt. The below itinerary can be organised all year round with a set departure guaranteed every Saturday throughout the year (min 2 persons).

This tour visits Jordan's most valuable treasure, the Rose City of Petra, and the unique landscape of the Dead Sea coast. But the main focus of this trip is to go off the beaten track, to visit and explore Jordan's the wild places such as Dana and Ajlun Nature Reserves and Wadi Rum. There are several opportunities during this tour for guided walks of varying duration through the rocky canyons and gorges of wild Jordan providing the opportunity to glance wildlife such as ostrich and Oryx.
