Kenya - Places To Stay
Southern Masai Mara - Sala's Camp is ideally located in the southern end of the Masai Mara, only 3 km from the Tanzania border, especially during the Wildebeest Migration from July to October. The game viewing during this time of the year is exceptional when thousands of Wildebeest cross into the Masai Mara from neighbouring Serengeti National Park in search of lush grasslands after the rains. You will be able to enjoy an abundance of wildlife and birdlife from the comfort of your tent, with magnificent views of the surrounding bush.
The safari tradition of adventure and elegance under canvas with a personalised service is Sala's trademark. Accommodation consists of spacious safari style tents with en-suite bathrooms and bucket showers. Solar powered electricity provide lighting in the rooms. Meals at the camp are prepared in the traditional safari style, using camp fires and gass cookers. The camp prides itself on its outstanding service and its owner managed hospitality.

Children of all ages are welcome, although it should be remembered that the camp is entirely open and not fenced off, so children should be kept a close eye on.
There is a special children's programme at Sala's. The local Masai tribe love children, and are keen to teach traditional lore. Activities include searching out the toothbrush tree, learning about the Masai, being taught how to spot the `Little Five' on game drives, or finding spoor in the sand riverbed.

The camp is made entirely from canvas manufactured in Kenya, and employs local Masai from the area as guides and members of staff around camp. Voluntary park and conservation fees are paid by every guest, a percentage of which is fed back into projects in the local community.
