This trip offers a great insight into the main attractions of South and central Malawi, where you will stay in comfort in local lodges. Day 1: Arrival

Day 4-5: Liwonde National Park
Journey on to Liwonde National Park and stay at Mvuu Camp where the river Shire enters the park. The waterfront location allows for game viewing from your deck with plentiful hippo and elephant populations. Day 8-9: Dedza Pottery
Travel into the highlands of Dedza where craftsmen can be viewed in the workshops of Dedza Pottery. Your lodge is next door to this famous Malawian industry. There is time to take guided walks into the surrounding highlands with many paths leading from the lodge. The area is littered with natural shelters, caves and rock overhangs which are decorated with rock art. The paintings by BaTwa hunter gatherers form the densest cluster of rock art in central Africa. In the evening the local villagers will perform their traditional dancing ceremony for guests at the lodge in the grounds of the tea garden. Overnight at Dedza Pottery Lodge on HB basis

Day 10-12: Ntchisi Forest
Your final port of call is Ntchisi Forest in central Malawi. The forest is a national reserve set on the escarpment of the rift valley with dramatic view over the lake and into neighbouring Mozambique. The reserve houses some of Malawi's last remaining indigenous rainforest. This really is a location to get away from it all as tourists are still a rarity in the area. Enjoy guided walking and cycling amongst the beautiful scenery with its bird life and colourful orchids as well as baboons and samongo monkeys. Overnight at Ntchisi Forest Lodge on HB basis

Day 13: Departure
