Malawi - Featured Trips

Start with a wildlife safari in Liwonde National Park with its riverine swamps, forests and grasslands. This wide diversity of habitats gives rise to some of the most scenic game viewing in Malawi and great bird watching. It offers not only game drives, but also river boat safaris. The area in Liwonde used for Malawi's only rhino breeding programme has recently been opened to visitors as well. From Liwonde you will travel to Lake Malawi to spend some time relaxing, getting to know the local people, enjoying Lake Niassa's clear waters and explore Likoma Island.

On arrival in Lilongwe (on either Kenyan Airways or SAA) you will be met and transferred by road to Liwonde National Park. The transfer will take approximately 4 hours. Liwonde is Malawi's premier wildlife destination, and known for its boat safaris on the Shire River. You will spend the next three nights in a luxury lodge on the banks of the Shire River. Spend two full days on safari in Liwonde, including game drives and boat safaris. Overnight at Mvuu Wilderness Lodge on FB basis

A road transfer will take you back to Lilongwe to catch a charter flight to Likoma Island on Lake Malawi. You have the option of staying at the romatic Kaya Mawa Lodge on Likoma Island or travel by boat to the remote Manda Wilderness and Nkwichi Lodge on the Mozambican shores of Lake Malawi. Overnight at Nkwichi Lodge or at Kaya Mawa on FB basis including non-motorised activities.

Spend your time exploring, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, just chilling or maybe even a night fly-camping (available to Nkwichi Lodge guests only). Overnight at Nkwichi Lodge or at Kaya Mawa on FB basis including non-motorised activities.

Boat transfer back to Likoma and internal flight to Lilongwe in time your international flight home.
