Northern Lake Malawi - Makuzi Beach Lodge offers something for everyone; be it soaking up the sun on a secluded beach, exploring the spectacular natural surroundings, or enjoying a variety of watersports. All of the chalets are tastefully furnished and have en suite facilities. All of them overlook the beach and the warm, clear waters of Lake Malawi are metres away.

The lodge runs the Shanti Trust, a small community development project. Land for the lodge was gifted to the Pollard Family by the local community and the lodge provides an important source of local employment. The Trust's main focus falls on:

Education
Supporting and developing the local school in Bandawe as well as providing education for adults from the local community on subjects such as first aid, hygiene, nutrition and woodland and fire management.
Arts and Culture
Promoting the work of local artists and developing a community cultural centre and museum.
Natural Resources
Instigated a tree-planting and fire management programme and have started research into the causes of and solutions to land degredation.

The serene and tranquil setting of Makuzi Beach ensures the ideal location for Yoga and Meditation retreats, taught by qualified Sivananda Yoga instructor.
