Namibia - Places To Stay
Gondwana Kalahari Park - The Kalahari is known for its green acacias and yellow grass on the red sand of dunes which extend over hundreds of kilometres. Gondwana Kalahari Park will provide unforgettable impressions of the largest continuous stretch of sand on earth. The park is situated 30 km north-east of Mariental. Animals like Springbok, Gemsbok and Ostrich as well as Jackal, Hare and Porcupine inhabit the dunes and dune valleys, referred to as `streets'. Take pictures of the Kori bustard - the largest flying bird of all - and of huge weaver birds' nests taking up entire trees. In the midst of the red dunes of the Kalahari in eastern Namibia, Kalahari Anib Lodge seems like a plush green oasis. The restaurant and chalets are arranged around a shaded courtyard with a large swimming pool.

Join a drive through the park at sunrise or around sunset, spend time watching vultures and marabou storks at the feeding place for carrion birds, or explore the Kalahari on a self guided hiking trail (maps available at reception)
Accommodation facilities and activities provide both jobs and opportunities for Namibians to improve their lives. The Gondwana Desert Collection boasts a staff of 200 today, whereas not so very long ago the same total area employed only a few dozen herders. Employees have the opportunity to make use of an extensive support programme for further education and training. The focus is on women in particular, and the programme extends to the very top level of the company.
