Choose from a variety of additional day tours, such as the beautiful Cape Point Nature Reserve, learn to make African beaded jewellery or participate in a music tour.

During your stay, you will be based at one of Cape Town's most exciting urban boutique hotels, within close proximity of the city's best restaurants, art galleries and theatres. The itinerary is flexible, and provides you with enough time to explore the sights and sounds of the Mother City. On arrival you will be provided with a calendar and information about cultural events and shows available during your stay, as well as a list of the best nearby restaurants.

This itinerary is ideal for those people interested in a vibrant inner city experience with a passion for culture, history, architecture and art. The ideal traveller will be independent and likes to explore art galleries and restaurants at their own pace, but enjoys the occasional guided excursions led by local guides to get a feel for the life and culture of the destination. On arrival at Cape Town International airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Cape Town. The Grand Daddy Hotel is located on vibrant Long Street within walking distance from some of the city's best restaurants, bars, art galleries and theatres. After a long day of travelling relax in your stylish and modern air-conditioned room with en-suite bathroom, or explore Cape Town's inner city nightlife. Start with breakfast! The Showroom Cafe serves an excellent breakfast prepared by legendary Cape Town chef Bruce Robertson. After breakfast it is time to get to know Cape Town on an introductory guided walking tour through the 'Old Town', catch the buzz of the city in Greenmarket Square, hear fascinating tales of Dutch rule at the Castle of Good Hope and Grand Parade, and visit the District Six Museum.

After breakfast make your way to the nearby Bo-Kaap Museum, where you will meet your guide for this morning's Cape Malay Cooking Safari. Take a stroll through the historic streets of the Bo-Kaap and visit spice merchants and the local butchery to shop for ingredients for a typical Cape Malay dish. During a hands-on cooking workshop in a nearby Bo-Kaap family home you will learn how to mix Masala, fold Samoosas and prepare a traditional Cape Malay curry. The tour does not end until you have sampled your own prepared Malay lunch.

You will have the afternoon free to visit one of the cities idyllic beaches or make your way up Table Mountain. Overnight at The Grand Daddy - Superior room on BB basis plus Cape Malay Cooking Safari with lunch included.

After breakfast, you will enjoy an interactive township experience. No more watching the township from an air-conditioned mini-bus. On this township tour, you will walk the streets of Langa, meet and greet friends, families and strangers alike. Molo! See homes, schools and shebeens. Travel to nearby Gugulethu for a sizzling braai (barbeque) for lunch. Mzoli's is Cape Town's most popular authentic township eating experience. Here, South Africans from all creed and colour meet to enjoy a traditional barbeque with plenty of cheers and chats.

Return to Cape Town in the afternoon with enough time left to take a trip up to Table Mountain or visit one of the city's beaches. Retire for the evening in a vintage Airstream caravan in the hotel's quirky rooftop Trailer Park. Each of the 7 trailers has been uniquely decorated by a few incredibly creative Capetonians, to find new life through playful, eccentric and dazzling decor. After breakfast you will be transferred back to the airport for your onward travel arrangements.
