South Africa - Places To Stay
Hermon, Winelands - Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse (FTTSA accredited) is the original homestead on a large private estate, a working wheat & sheep farm and nature reserve, with a spectacular mountain backdrop of Elandskloof Mountains. All rooms have been elegantly restored and individually decorated with an eye for detail. Bartholomeus specialises in French cuisine with a local flavour complemented by an extensive local wine list. High tea is served daily - a serious affair with a lavish spread of sweet and savoury temptations. The glory of Bartholomeus is its 4,000 ha of fynbos nature reserve, part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, with many rare plant species, the endangered geometric tortoise and eland, spring-bok, bontebok, black wildebeest, red hartebeest and zebras.

Bartholomeus Klip is also a member of The Good Cooks and their Country Houses group. This is an association of personalised lodges, offering traditional South African hospitality and sublime food.
