Addo Area - HillsNek Safaris is a 4 star exclusive-use, luxury tented camp with a focus on privacy and personalised attention. It is positioned on the banks of the Bushmans River, tucked away in a secluded corner of the malaria-free Amakhala Game Reserve. This Big Five reserve offers an abundance and diversity of wildlife, including white & black rhino, elephant, giraffe, cheetah, lion, buffalo, zebra and a myriad of plains game.

HillsNek Safaris focusses its attention on luxury, detail and comfort, combined with the unsurpassed exclusivity of a dedicated host, ranger and chef, it allows you the ultimate privilege of being able to customize and personalise your safari, especially great for families with younger children.

HillsNek Safaris consists of three luxury canvas safari tents set on expansive wrap around wooden decks with panoramic views. The tents are all en-suite with outside showers and linked to the communal area by raised wooden walkways. The main open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room area overlooks the solar heated swimming pool and the Bushman's River.

By 1900, the only remaining population of Southern white Rhino comprised 10-20 animals in the Umfolozi are in KwaZulu Natal. It is from this small remaining group that the approximately 8400 individuals living in Southern Africa today were derived. HillsNek Safaris is committed to the conservation of the Southern White Rhino. They carry out daily monitoring, protect the rhino population in Amakhala and promote the population growth. Amakhala Game Reserve is also home to the endangered Back rhino, Brown hyena and cheetah and constant monitoring by a dedicated team of skilled rangers will ensure their continued success.

Home to the first dinosaur fossil discovery in South Africa, the Cape Iguanodon, HillsNek Safaris is also committed to the conservation of palaentology and the preservation of this historically significant site.
