South Africa - Places To Stay
Plettenberg Bay/The Crags - Hog Hollow Country Lodge is a 4 star guest lodge and FTTSA accredited. The Main House is for wining and dining and all things social, with 3 lounge areas, internet access and the communal dining table. The long blue pool area with its sauna and comfy recliners looks out over the sun-drenched valley.
The suites are decorated with traditional African & local arts and crafts, earthy colours & woven fabrics, each with a king-sized bed. The suites have a private wooden deck with hammock overlooking the indigenous forests of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and most have cosy fireplaces (except the family suite for safety reasons). The suites are also fitted with a mini-hifi, but no TV or telephone, and beautiful en-suite bathrooms.

The perfect base from which to explore numerous attractions and activities in the area like hiking trails, beaches, boat cruises and day trips to Tsitsikamma forest.
Hog Hollow Country Lodge (FTTSA accredited) is an excellent example of high quality accommodation managed by previously disadvantaged people from the local Plettenberg Bay area. To maintain international standards of service, all staff (cooks, waiters, cleaners and management team) are put through a rigorous training programme.
Hog Hollow has a robust recycling programme and are assisting others in the area to come on board and their vegetable waste goes a local emerging pig farmer.
The area was once used as wattle plantations for the tanin industry and is now causing enormous damage to the indigenous forest and fynbos. They have a programme whereby young wattles are removed from the root in order to impede their growth, as well as cutting down the adult trees and maintaining a watchful eye on their regrowth. Indigenous trees are planted throughout the year.
Cash in South African Rands is accepted. All major credit cards are accepted.
