South Africa - Places To Stay
Kruger National Park - Rhino Post Safari Lodge, operated by Rhino Walking Safaris, is situated in a private concession within the Kruger National Park. The concession shares an unfenced boundry with Mala Mala and Sabi Sands reserves, allowing game to move freely between the reserves. Rhino Post Safari Lodge is set on the banks of the Mutlumuvi River, offering views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. There are no permanent structures and the lodge was built using natural materials of stone, wood, thatch and canvas to create an authentic bush ambience. The luxurious chalets have en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers and private patios. Wholesome meals are served in the camp's dining area, which is set under magnificent Tamboti trees. The lounge, with its extensive wine cellar, cosy fireplace and bar, is the perfect location to enjoy a sundowner.

Focus mostly on game drives. Optional walking safaris are available at Rhino Post, but best to be combined with Plains Camp, which is more bush walks orientated.
Rhino Post Safari Lodge has been specially designed and built to have minimal impact on the environment. Few permanent structures were used in the construction of this magnificent camp. Low energy lighting, natural materials, raised walkways and bedrooms are but some of the low impact measures taken.
Rhino Walking Safaris are involved in the following projects:
Sable Research in the Kruger National Park
In conjunction with the research department of the Kruger National Park (SANPARKS), all funds collected for this project will be used by the SANP's Northern Plains & Plant-herbivore interactions department for the study of the rare sable antelope, which also occurs on the Rhino Walking Safaris concession.
Tshemba Hosi School, bordering Kruger National Park
Tshemba Hosi School was founded by Mrs Tryphina Makhubela. In 2001 she was told that she would have to take her youngest son, then aged seven, out of his regular school, as he was mentally handicapped. She started to teach him at home. Thsemba Hosi School now provides day care, education and two meals a day to fifty-four children.
Cash in South African Rand is accepted. All major credit cards are also accepted.
Sleep Outs
Guests wanting to enjoy a unique experience will be able to do "Sleep Outs" on elevated wooden platforms (weather permitting). This is the only place in the Kruger National Park offering this unusual accommodation. Guests will leave Rhino post in the late afternoon, and accompanied by a guide walk to the sleep out platforms carrying a lightweight rucksack containing a change of clothes and refreshments. Beds are prepared on the platforms covered by mosquito nets, and dinner is served under the stars. The following morning, guests will enjoy a light snack after which they will return to the main camp for a hearty brunch.
Spend 3 nights and get the 4th night free, available for the months of May and June.
Other long stay specials available on request.
