Tanzania - Places To Stay

Fundu Lagoon
Pemba Island - Fundu Lagoon is the epitome of a 'bare foot paradise' with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air on a remote and beautiful beach. It is only accessible by boat and provides a perfect place to relax and unwind in casual yet stylish surroundings. The rooms are set along the beach front or on the hillside and consist of designer tents on wooden decks & under makuti roofs.

All buildings connect with wooden walkways & paths through indigenous forest. Meals are served in the main building overlooking the sea or at the jetty and consist of 3 course lunches & dinners of high international standards. The jetty's cocktail bar, stretching way out into the sea, is perfect for sundowners.

Responsible Travel
Fundu Lagoon is the only employer and source of income for many people on the Wamba Peninsula. The lodge has helped digging a well, provided the first tap for the village and helped building a school - any educational donations are gratefully received. They are also involved in a women's cooperative for growing organic vegetables to be bought by the lodge.
