Selous Safari Camp
Selous Game Reserve - Selous Safari Camp is located at the centre of the unique riverine and lake complex on the banks of the Rufiji River. The camp is designed to blend in with the spectacular natural scenery in what is one of the most photogenic areas of the Selous. The large safari tents are all set on its own raised timber platform with seating areas at the front and back. The dining and bar areas are elevated onto tall platforms both with large comfortable sofas, and wildlife reference library. Dining makes the most of African influences with local fresh fruit, vegetables & spices. The swimming pool is set in shade with day beds and towels.

Drive time from Dar es Salaam is approximately 6-8 hours. Daily scheduled flights available from Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar

Activities
The camp has the prime position, with a high concentration of wildlife. Daily game drives in open 4-wheel drive vehicles, river safaris, walking safaris and fishing are on offer as well as fly- camping in pristine surroundings.

Responsible Travel
Selous Safari Camp employs & trains 56 Tanzanian staff, many of whom are now coming through in management positions. All employees are on proper contracts with 24 days work & 6 days off. They are currently setting up an organisa-tion that will regulate tourism practices in Selous, support anti-poaching and take over all of the community conserva-tion work that each camp in Selous performs individually.

Money Issues
Cash payments in TSh and USD accepted. Travellers cheques and credit cards are accepted, but a surcharge is applied.
