Zanzibar East Coast - Shooting Star Inn is an intimate and tranquil family run hotel. Nestled on a headland amongst lush tropical gardens, Shooting Star overlooks the beautiful fine white sands and coconut palms of Kiwengwa beach. The cottages are built to high standards in traditional Zanzibari style with white lime washed walls, high-beamed ceilings and large windows. The open-air restaurant and bar have panoramic views over the Indian ocean. The quality of the food is renowned across the island - serving a wide variety of African and international cuisine, specialities include lobster, meat grills and smoked fish, using traditional African recipes.

Various day tours around the island can be arranged incl Stone Town Tour, Spice Tour, Dhow Trips, Scuba Diving and Snorkelling.

Shooting Star Inn train and employ people from the local community as guides and resort staff. They buy local produce helping local communities benefit economically from tourism. For environmental reasons, they do not use any chemicals in their swimming pool but use natural salts instead. The resort also helped to build a local school and clinic by providing them with building materials.
