Saadani National Park - Tent With a View safari lodge is located on the Mkwaja coastline, just outside the north-east boundary of Saadani. It offers a peaceful retreat and an unique experience of big game and barefoot luxury. Whilst the diversity of animals in the park is comparable to most other game reserves, their abundance is lower and accessibility to the park is still somewhat of a challenge. Large game currently seen include giraffe, buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, sable antelope, eland, hartebeest, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, reedbuck, greater kudu, warthog, hyena, mongoose, civet, serval, baboon, black and white colobus, crocodile, hippo, three species of duiker as well as a great variety of birdlife. Saadani is dominated by acacia woodland and coastal thickets, but also protects a large area of mangrove swamps along the coastline north from the Wami River.

The tented bandas are elegantly perched on stilts spaced out along the pristine Indian Ocean beach. All the beachfront bandas offer total privacy, are fully en-suite and have large verandas with hammocks overlooking the Indian Ocean. The spacious restaurant & bar area is also elevated on stilts overlooking the sea. Freshly caught seafood is a speciality and combined with an extensive wine list you are assured of a memorable dining experience.

Saadani National Park

Chartered flights from Dar es Salaam take just 35 minutes and from Zanzibar 25 minutes. Saadani Lodge is roughly 4.5 hours by road from Dar. The best route is via the improved Mandera road and through Saadani N.P. From Arusha, it is approximately 7 hours by road via Pangani on the coast.

A Tent with a View Safari Lodge opened up shares in the company to staff at preferential rates and even offered some of the longest serving staff further shares as reward for their loyalty. They are also active in organised anti-poaching patrols in Saadani and, along with US Aid, have funded building of 2 toilet blocks, each with 6 toilets, to help clean up the Mkwaja area to prevent outbreaks of cholera. Currently they have embarked on a long-term project to help building a hospital for the local villages.
