Zambia - Best Time To Visit
Zambia has a tropical climate and three distinct seasons. Although Zambia is situated in the tropics, the temperatures seldom get unbearably hot in the high-lying areas. The valleys however are known to be very hot during the summer months. The cold, dry winter season lasts from May to September, followed by a very hot and dry period in October and November. The rainy season starts in December and lasts until April. Humidity is high, but rainfall is not constant and can just last for a few hours each day or night. The heaviest rainfall often occurs during January. The Copperbelt and North Western provinces receive about 1400 mm rainfall per year, while Lusaka and the southern provinces receive an annual rainfall of around 700 - 750 mm. The average summer temperatures range between 25-35 °C, while in winter the variation increases ranging from 6-24 °C.
