A true classic African safari in the South Luangwa Valley followed by time in Malawi on Lake Malawi and Liwonde National Park. Malawi is often referred to as the warm heart of Africa offering friendly people, diverse landscapes and the amazingly beautiful Lake Malawi.

Arrive in Lusaka and catch an internal flight to Mfuwe in the Luangwa Valley. The South Luangwa National Park is Zambia's most popular park, with some of the highest concetrations of game in Africa. Transfer to your lodge inside the park. Overnight at Mfuwe Lodge

Spend five full days on various safari activities in the Luangwa Valley. Day and night time gmae drives with an experienced and knowledgeable guide are provided daily, or those more adventurous at heart can take the exciting option of a walking safari to view or track animals on foot with armed scout as protection. Walking safaris were pioneered in this park and are still one of the best ways of experiencing the African wilderness. This is one of the premier wilderness areas in Africa, famed for its seclusion and natural beauty. Overnight choice of Bushcamps on FB basis

You will transfer via a game drive back to the Mfuwe area of the park. Overnight at Mfuwe Lodge

After breakfast return to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lilongwe in Malawi. Continue onwards by road to Cape Maclear on the Southern side of beautiful Lake Malawi. This is the third largest lake in Africa and its tropical waters teem with more fish species than any other lake on Earth. Overnight on Mumbo Island on FB basis

Spend three full days kayaking on Lake Malawi. Spend your evening at one of the camps on Mumbo Island. Mumbo is a pristine and deserted tropical island, and the undisputed jewel of the Lake Malawi National Park. Mumbo Island has never been populated, and is still in it's natural state with a thick covering of miombo woodland and ancient fig and baobab trees. Overnight on Mumbo Island on FB basis

Leaving Lake Malawi behind for Liwonde National Park and a short transfer to Mvuu Lodge. Mvuu Lodge is situated on a lagoon close to the Shire River in the north of the park. Mvuu is the only lodge/camp in the Park and is therefore able to offer exclusive boat trips and game drives both during the day and at night. Walks with qualified scouts are another recommended activity. In addition, guests can do great bicycle trips from the boundary of Liwonde to the local villages outside the park, giving one a superb cultural experience. Overnight at Mvuu Wilderness Camp on FB basis

Take a road transfer back to Lilongwe for a flight to Lusaka that will connect with your onward travel arrangements.

You can add a 4 Day Livingstone & Victoria Falls package at the start or end of your safari. You can include a variety of activities like a visit to Victoria Falls, "Flight of Angels" scenic flight, visit Mosi-ao-Tunya National Park, Whitewater Rafting, Livingstone Museum, or visit Mikuni Village. Full board accommodation at Stanley Safari Lodge or Islands of Siankaba. A variety of alternative accommodation options are also available.
