Swine Flu and travel to Africa
Thursday, April 30th 2009
We are closely monitoring the impact of the Swine Flu outbreak originating in Mexico earlier this week and its possible impact on travel to destinations offered by Baobab Travel. Following World Health Organisation (WHO) advice, governments worldwide are activating plans for a possible global pandemic. The private sector and the public should also take all possible precautionary measures.
With regards to travel to and from Africa there are as yet no reported cases of Swine Flu in any African country. Through our membership of ATTA we are part of the Tourism Emergency Response Network (TERN), who are working closely with WHO and sharing views on a continuous basis. This ensures that the special situation of travellers is taken fully into account in WHO guidance and that we will be able to provide the best and most accurate advice to all of our customers.
Please feel free to contact us for updates and in the meantime we will keep our news section updated should any of the destinations we offer become affected.
