Ten reasons to go on Safari

Monday, March 30th 2009

Ten light-hearted reasons to go on an African safari during the recession.

1. The TV and constant recession news is killing me.

There are very few TVs in the African bush. Instead there great tales around the camp fire.

2. I am constantly thinking about my lack of funds.

Money plays a minor role in the African bush and there are no shops to spend it in!

3. My shares keep falling and I need to keep in touch.

They will fall anyway and there is little or no mobile connection in the African bush to disturb you.

4. My mortgage is worrying me to death.

Visit some local villages on your safari and realise there is no shame in down sizing.

5. Everyone is advising us to save money.

Memories of an African safari will always be with you, even when you are bankrupt.

6. I have sleepless nights worrying about the credit crunch.

The sound of a lion roaring next to your tent will re-focus that anxiety!

7. Too many rumours and 'hearsays' keep me on edge all day.

The African bush is real-time. A leopard on a kill and egrets against the sunset are not hot air from CNN.

8. I have lost my job.

Well finally you have found the time to experience a real adventure and the time to clear your mind.

9. My budget is tighter, is a safari out of the question?

Shop around, at the moment there are great deals all over Africa that will bring a safari closer than ever before.

10. 'Agro' with my family members on holiday is always a problem.

An African safari will make you realise what is really important and what you don't want to lose.
