What makes us different

BAOBAB Travel provides a flexible travel service and takes care to tailor-make every itinerary to suit the needs of each individual client or group. We can tailor the duration of your trip, the dates, the itinerary itself by including specific accommodation, activities and destinations, and to some extent the budget. Please let our travel consultant know as much information as possible, as this will help us to put an itinerary together that is ideal for you. Tell us for example what your interests are, do you want to undertake any particular activities, visit specific destinations and if you are travelling with children (if so please let us know their ages). Also it helps greatly to know whether or not you have travelled to Africa before and if so, which destinations you visited.

Our travel consultants are all well travelled and can provide you with expert travel advice and tips. We endeavour to visit all the destinations and lodges in our portfolio, so we can talk from personal experience and give you our view on the suitability of e.g. a lodge for a honeymoon or a family holiday. Please talk to us as we are here to help you to make to most of your tailor-made trip to Africa.

We like to combine "off the beaten track" places with the better known "must see" and "iconic" destinations so that you get to experience something different whilst not missing out on the highlights of your destination. We aim to provide authentic experiences that are sensitive to the environment and incorporate the culture and traditions of local communities.

The accommodation establishments and tour operators that we support are mostly small, family owned and independently operated businesses that employ members from local communities. (For more information please also check our Responsible Travel Policy)

Prior to departure we provide every client with an information pack that includes specific destination information, health and travel advice and general Responsible Travel tips as well as your detailed itinerary.

International flights
As you will notice, most of our trips include the international flight departing from the United Kingdom. However, if you can find a great flight deal on the internet or the high street, we are more than happy to offer the same arrangements without international flights.

However as we are an Appointed Operator for British Airways we can not only offer highly competitive airfares on all British Airways flights included in our itineraries, but also hold seats for you, at no obligation to you to buy the airfare until you have formally booked your itinerary with us. All we need are the names, as shown in their passport, of ALL passengers travelling.

For non-UK based customers, please talk to our travel consultant about flight options, as in certain cases we can help overseas customers with international flights and on other occasions it works out a lot cheaper for you to arrange these locally.

As a UK-registered company, your holiday is fully ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority (our ATOL licence number is 9168). All non-air holidays are protected under the Bond Plus protection scheme.

Our offices
In order to be close to our clients and provide the best possible service, our head office is based in the United Kingdom. We also have an office based in South Africa that brings us closer to our partners on the ground, as well as allow our staff to travel regularly to remain up to date on the destinations we offer.
