BAOBAB Travel offers scuba-diving with a difference. Although the focus is obviously on the scuba diving and the underwater world, we also give time to appreciate everything the surface has to offer. Although many places in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba are heavily overdived, BAOBAB Travel will take you off the beaten track to remoter and less-frequented scuba dive sites. We will always aim to keep our groups small in order to minimise the impact of your stay.

Sinai Camel Dive Safari
This out of the ordinary scuba dive trip offers fantastic diving in the Gulf of Aqaba, Egypt. You will dive both the well-known dive sites near Dahab and the more pristine reefs of Ras Abu Galum. First part of the week you will stay in a small family run hotel in Dahab from where you will dive sites such as the Canyon and Blue Hole. The latter part of the week you will leave Dahab behind to set off on a 3 days camel dive safari along the coast, north of Dahab. An absolutely remarkable and blissful dive experience.

Ras Mohammed & Nabq Dive Safari
Baobab’s Ras Mohammed & Nabq Dive Safari is specially designed with dive clubs and groups of dive buddies in mind, who have done the standard dive packages and liveaboards in the Red Sea and want to escape the commercialised resorts. The trip offers plenty of diving in some of the best dive sites in the Red Sea, but at the same time some of the most remote & rarely dived sites. A completely escape from the Red Sea crowds in the company of the local Bedouins and their camels.

Red Sea Scuba Dive Packages, Dahab
BAOBAB's Red Sea scuba-diving packages enable you to dive the Gulf of Aqaba away from the mainstream resorts and in the comfort of an hotel in Dahab. TANZANIA

East Africa is not known primarily for its scuba diving, however it houses some of the best dive sites in the world. BAOBAB offers diving in the Indian Ocean, staying on fabulous tropical islands and encountering an abundance of marine life, including turtles, dolphins, reef sharks and rays. Why not combine these fantastic destinations and stay a few days at both Mafia Island Marine Park and Zanzibar Island. East Africa is not particularly well know for diving, however it provides some of the best scuba diving in the world. Mafia Island Archipelago is situated of the coast of Tanzania and offers tropical white beaches, superb coral reefs and lush tropical vegetation. There are at least 400 species of fish in Mafia Island Marine Park, a true sub-aqua paradise, where you will never dive in a crowd. This dive special gives you the opportunity to stay in either Chole Mjini’s remarkable treehouses or in their beach tents.

Dive Zanzibar Island

Zanzibar is probably the most famous Island on the East African coast, particularly well known for its spice trade. However, Zanzibar offers much more than just an eclectric history, it has amazing palm-fringed white beaches, turquoise sea and pristine coral reefs. On top, Matemwe Bungalows provides luxurious accommodation, lovely food and is virtually set on the beach. What else would a diver wish for?

SOUTH AFRICA

Think South Africa and you probably think sharks - Great Whites, Ragged-toothed and Tiger. BAOBAB South Africa itineraries are developed with Dive South and combine the shark diving with fantastic reefs and the big five on land. This land and sea safari in the glorious and diverse nation of South Africa is a holiday of a lifetime. This group itinerary offers 14 action-packed days of shark & reef diving, wildlife safaris and cultural tours, carefully designed to take you behind the scenes of the Rainbow Nation.

You will start in Johannesburg, be driven to Sodwana Bay - Mecca of diving in South Africa - transferred to one of the many Game Reserve home to the Big Five, qualify as a Shark Speciality Diver on the Durban coast and driven back via the Drakensberg Mountains and Free State to Johannesburg.

Shark & Seal Safari

This exclusive itinerary offers 11 action-packed days of shark cage diving, seal diving and shark diving without cages on Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks. You will start in Cape Town, be driven around the Cape launching on a Great White shark adventure with lots of sea bating and cage diving, fly to Durban for more diving and to qualify as a Shark Speciality Diver and be driven back to Johannesburg.
