Special Interest

Travelling to Africa as a family can be one of the most rewarding and exciting family trips you will ever take. Many of the safari lodges are getting more and more geared up for the travelling families offering facilities such as family rooms, special children's safari programmes and child care for the little ones. But apart from wildlife and beautiful landscapes, Africa offers a great deal more for families, including fabulous beaches, exciting desert treks by camel or jeep, easy (and more challenging) walking holidays, scuba-diving and watersports holidays and what is more fun than playing football with the local kids.

Below you will find just a few of our Featured Family Holiday Trips, please Contact Us for more information.

Egypt

This trip offers a fantastic combination of the hustle & bustle of Cairo and total tranquillity of the desert. You will be guided around Pharonic, Coptic and Islamic Cairo and see all the 'must see' places. The second part of the tour takes you into the Black and White Desert with the most incredible variety of colours, shapes and even some Pharonic tombs. Experience the desert in its true form sitting around a camp fire with your Bedouin guides. A visit to the Bahariya Oasis is also on the programme.

The Red Sea is often referred to as a diver's paradise - with great dive sites, abundant marine life, great visibility and warm waters. The northern part of the Red Sea has been selected as one of the Seven Underwater Wonders of The World. In recent years some of these precious habitats have received protection.

The Best of Dahab dive package has been designed for any divers (min. qualification PADI Open Water or similar) who want to experience the ultimate Sinai experience. It combines the best dives in & around Dahab with the famous camel dive safaris and a boat safari to two different Marine Reserves. This trip is also ideal for mixed groups of divers, snorkellers and non-divers, offering sufficient variety for everybody to enjoy a week of adventure & fun.

If you are not a qualified diver as yet, PADI Open Water courses can also be arranged as well as more standard scuba-dive packages for the already qualified. Please contact us for more information and prices.

In order to escape the mainstream commercialised resorts in the Red Sea, we offer a variety of scuba-diving packages based in the relaxed village-style resort of Dahab. Dahab is situated roughly 100km north of Sharm el-Sheikh on the Gulf of Aqaba coast, Sinai. Dahab offers a wide range of shore dives in the Gulf of Aqaba, from shallow gentle dives to deep technical dives in the Blue Hole. In the programme are dive sites such as the Canyon, Bells to the Blue Hole, the Islands, Coral Garden, Eel Gardens, the Lighthouse, Gabr el-Bint, and potentially a boat dive to Napoleon Reef, dependent on weather conditions.

You will be based on the southern side of Dahab's seafront , and stay at the family friendly Inmo Diver's Home situated directly on the house reef with views across the Gulf of Aqaba. The hotel offers a range of family rooms, a good restaurant, swimming pool and children's playground with cave & paddling pool and several sun-lounging areas turning your stay into a relaxing and delightful experience. Child minding facilities are available whilst you dive. The dive centre offers optional courses for kids including the Bubblemaker course for young children and the Junior Open Water Course for children 10 years and older. Various adult PADI Dive courses are also available on request.

This jeep safari focuses on the culture and history of the Sinai Desert, visiting St. Catherine's Monastery with the legendary burning bush, Mount Sinai where Moses received the Ten Commandments, Wadi Feiran where he struck a rock with his staff, bringing forth a spring so his people could drink, and the famous turquoise mines at Serabit - just to name a few. This trip bursts with historical and cultural interest to give you a true insight into this 'great and terrible wilderness'.

There are only a few places in the world where a first-time visitor is confronted with a mountainous desert landscape as spectacular as that of the Sinai. On this camel safari you will trek into the heart of the desert and spend time with a Bedouin tribe learning amongst others about their techniques of survival. Visit the ancient biblical sites, such as St. Catherine's Monastery, and explore the Mount Sinai area. Sleeping under the stars in the desert is a most breathtaking and soul recharging experience.

South Africa

Discover the Marine Big 5 (whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins), as well as the classic safari Big 5 (buffalo, elephant, rhino, lion and leopard) on this magical whale watching tour. The best time to travel is during South Africa's winter season from July to November, but don't be put of by this. Winter in South Africa nothing like the European and North American winters and it is also a lovely quiet time of year. At least 37 species of whales and dolphins can be found in the waters off South Africa, including Southern Right and Humpback whales. During the winter period Southern Right whales migrate into the coastal waters of the Western Cape to calve and nurse their young and therefore can often been seen up close along the coast.
